World Bank committed to Kosovo

Prishtinë, March 9, 2006 – Kosovo’s President Fatmir Sejdiu said during a meeting with the World Bank (WB) representative in Pristina Kanthan Shankar that he counts on WB assistance for economic development, but also in other areas at this crucial period of state building.

Sejdiu and Shankar sought on Tuesday the ways for intensification of cooperation between Kosovo and WB. “We are grateful to WB for all its assistance given to Kosovo so far, and of course for the readiness to continue with this assistance, especially now when we need faster development of our potentials,” he said.

He was informed by Shankar with some of the WB projects in Kosovo, which are mainly oriented in the energy sector, but also in the capacity building of some other sectors, such as education, health and so forth.
