The US Deputy Assistant Undersecretary of State Stuart Jones met with Kosovo Leaders President Fatmir Sejdiu, PM Hashim Thaçi, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Skender Hyseni during the day, where he stated that Kosovo must show political stability to prove that it can stand on its own as a state. “For Washington Kosovo issue is resolved, and now economic development must be achieved,” a Presidency communiqué read.
Economic situation was a topic of discussion between Jones and PM Thaçi too. According to a Government press release, PM Thaçi thanked US for their support in the process of declaration of independence.
Current situation in Kosovo, the process of more recognitions, and Serbian initiative to ask for an opinion from The International Court of Justice on Kosovo’s independence were topics of discussion between Jones and Minister Hyseni. Jones did not address media after the meetings.
