Promoting investments in Lausanne, Switzerland

During the event “Investment and Trade Opportunities in Kosovo”, held in Lausanne on 26 October 2012 and organized by ECIKS / IPAK-Vienna in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce Switzerland-Central Europe SEC, the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Switzerland and Albinfo.ch, Swiss companies were invited by high government representatives to invest in Kosovo.

After the opening statement of the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo in Switzerland, Mr, Naim Malaj, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Mrs. Mimoza Kusari-Lila introduced the current economic developments in Kosovo and the reforms achieved in improving the ranking in the Doing Business Report. Minister of Economic Development, Mr. Besim Beqaj continued with the current privatization projects as well as projects planned in the telecommunication, infrastructure and energy sector. The first session was concluded with the statement of the Minister of Disapora of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Ibrahim Makolli, who spoke about the importance and potentials of the Kosovo Diaspora.

The second session included presentations on the investment opportunities in Kosovo by CEO of IPAK, Mr. Valdrin Lluka as well as on experiences dealing wit foreign investors by Project Manager of ECIKS/IPAK-Vienna, Mr. Hamez Morina. Last both not least the representative of the Swiss company Modena introduced the investor experiences in investing in Kosovo.
