Priority standards – waiting for the new government

Prishtina, December 6, 2004 – Koha Ditore reports on the front page that UNMIK and the PRSG have about six months to implement the priority standards, which still haven’t been made public, evaluate and report on their progress through the measuring indicators, and then start talks on the status of Kosovo. It is however the UN Security Council in mid-2005 that is to take the decision about the latter.

The paper quotes AAK spokesman Ernest Luma as saying that Prime Minister Haradinaj is waiting for the next session of the Kosovo Assembly to present the points of the strategy for standards.

On the same issue, the paper quotes unnamed sources as saying that Haradinaj has requested three months to define a detailed government strategy for Kosovo.
