The call for pre-qualification for companies interested in privatizing 75% of Kosovos Post and Telecom (PTK) was announced on Monday, June 25th. The pre-qualification criteria were adopted on Friday, June 22, in a meeting of the Government Privatization Committee of PTK (GPC).
The pre-qualification criteria adopted by the GPC, were prepared following a process of analyzing the telecom market and the interest of potential investors.
The Government Privatization Committee of PTK considers that the criteria adopted for the pre-qualification process are in full compliance with the objectives of the Government and the Parliament of Kosovo for a transparent and competitive privatization of PTK and further developments in Kosovo’s telecom sector, said a statement of the Ministry of Economic Development of Kosovo.
By these criteria, the GPC wants to identify telecom operators and financial investors who have experience in the telecommunications sector and have sufficient financial, technical, managerial and organizational capacity to successfully manage the company.
GPC and the transaction advisor consider that the criteria adopted for pre-qualification will provide good competition and equal treatment of potential investors.
