Prishtina, Nov. 24, 2005 – The Head of UNMIK Pillar IV Jean Dussourd during a visit to the Parliament has informed the Speaker Nexhat Daci that the Justice and Order ministries will be formed before Christmas.
UNMIK official also said that the legislation on Police will be ready soon, but it will mot be enforced as law, but only as UNMIK Regulation.
Dussourd said that that the country’s legislation should create its own mechanisms to monitor the work and the efficiency of the ministries, whereas UNMIK and OSCE will help in building of those mechanisms.
As far as the legislation on Police, Dussourd said that it is being reviewed in New York, whereas the Parliament can help with its remarks and recommendations in the quality of this regulation.
