Kosovo: Steering Committe for Prishtina Airport

Prishtina, 10 April 2007 – The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) presented The Steering Committee of the Pristina International Airport Project, which is going to look into the possibility of giving the airport in concession.

“The Government has tasked this committee to investigate the best possibilities to attract private partners through concession at Pristina International Airport,” stated Minister of Economy and Finance, Haki Shatri, at yesterday’s press conference.

“It is up to the Government and the Committee to decide on the best long-term steps for managing and developing the airport once Kosovo’s status is solved,” stated Minister Shatri.

The committee will be chaired by Minister Shatri, other members include Minister of Transport and Telecommunication, Qemajl Ahmeti, Minister of Internal Affairs, Blerim Kuqi, Minister of Trade and Industry, Bujar Dugolli, representative of the Prime Minister’s Cabinet, Viktor Ulaj, UNMIK representative, Johan Van Lamoen, KTA representative, Ilir Salihu, the advisor to the Kosovo President, Isa Mustafa, who will be an observer and other representatives of USAID and EAR.
