Kosovo and Hungary eliminate double taxation

On Wednesday, Kosovo and Hungary finalized the negotiations that will lead to the signing of the “Agreement for Elimination of Double Taxation and Tax Evasion”. These negotiations were held between a delegation from Kosovo’s Ministry of Finance and a delegation from Hungary‘s Ministry of National Economy.

The finalization of these negotiations will make possible the signing of this agreement by political representatives of both states in the near future, so that the agreement will be effective as soon as possible.

This agreement is in the interest of both countries, as it will enable the elimination of double taxation for investing companies and will also help eliminate tax evasion. The agreement is expected to help increase the number of direct foreign investments in Kosovo and create investment opportunities for Kosovar businesses in Hungary.

During their stay in Budapest, the delegation from Kosovo will have meetings with the National Tax Administration and Customs and will also start negotiations on the ‘Agreement on Cooperation and Mutual Assistance in Custom Matters’.
