Telecom Slovenia praises its investments in Kosovo

Telecom Slovenia has placed Kosovo first in the list of places to do business with. IPKO, a Kosovar mobile telephony provider owned by Telecom Slovenia, has come to be the most profitable in the region. Telecom Slovenia has invested about 200 million Euros in IPKO. During the first 10 months of this year, IPKO has brought a net profit of 8.8 million Euros.

“After our operations in Slovenia, the contribution of IPKO Kosovo is the most important for the Telekom Slovenia Group. Only in the first ten months of this year we have had a 8.8 million euro net profit,” said the head of the Telecom Slovenia Board, Ivica Kranjcevic.”Next year we plan to invest at least 19 million Euros in fixed telephony services and digital television,” he said.

The executive director of the company, Robert Erzin has also made a statement about the business of this company in Kosovo. He stated that he intends to make his company the leader in Kosovos telecommunications market.

“At the moment, we have a 24% market share in mobile telephony, 6% in fixed telephony, 57% in digital TV and 53% in the Internet market. With the planned investments, we believe that we will increase our market share in Kosovo, “said Erzin.

According to him, IPKO has had a 54 million Euros turnover in the first 9 months of this year. “We have opened about 500 new jobs, have paid millions of Euros for taxes and support many civil, cultural and sports activities ” said Erzin
