Busek: Kosovo’s Europeanization is necessary

Prishtina, 10 June 2004 – Erhard Busek, coordinator of the Stability Pact for South-East Europe said that the situation in Kosovo was affecting the entire region, Koha Ditore reports. Busek said that a successor must be found for the outgoing UNMIK chief Harri Holkeri, because delays on this matter would send the wrong message.

Busek also said that the European Union must compile a strategy for Kosovo, ‘or else we lose time and this could have unpredictable consequences’. ‘The EU must also decide to “Europeanise” the problem of Kosovo.’
