The U.S. Bechtel and the Austrian Strabag have entered the race to build Kosovo’s second highway between Prishtina and Han i Elezit. The Ministry of Infrastructure, confirmed that the two companies have submitted their documents in the call for expression of interest.
Both these companies were the main contenders in the race for the Morinë – Merdarë highway, which was won by Bechtel. Bechtel and Strabag are the first companies to express their interest following the announcement by the Ministry of Infrastructure.
A Turkish-Italian consortium is also competing. “Strabag and Bechtel, as well as several other consortiums have submitted documentation for expression of interest to the Office of Procurement,” said an official from the Ministry of Infrastructure.
