Prishtina International Airport (PIA) has announced that the one-millionth passenger for 2008 will pass through the airport today. This number represents a new record achieved more than a month before the end of the year.
“By the end of the year, based on the number of flights, we expect the number of passengers to reach 1.2 million,” say the airport authorities.
A total of 990,000 commercial passengers travelled through Prishtina International Airport during last year.
Kosovo government has recently declared it is studying options for the involvement of private capital at PIA.
