Lufthansa plans to fly Prishtina

Representatives of Lufthansa, the largest airline in Europe, have met with the management of Pristina International Airport (PIA), to discuss the possibility of starting flights from Germany to Kosovo.

The flights from several German cities to Prishtina would be starting from January next year.

“The interest of this airline indicates the growing capabilities of our airport,” said Managing Director of PIA, Agron Mustafa.

According to him, Lufthansa flights to and from Prishtina would increase the competition and would contribute to price reduction for international flights.

“British Airways”, “Austrian Airlines”, “Swiss”, “EasyJet”, “Airberlin” and other major airlines have already included Prishtina as their destination.

PIA is the only international airport in Kosovo and processes over 1.2 million passengers annually. The Turkish-French consortium “Limak-Airport de Lyon” has recently won the 20-year concession bid for PIA.
