Prishtina, 29 December 2006 – The Kosovo Trust Agency (KTA) on Thursday, 28th of December formally launched the 22nd wave of privatisation of Socially Owned Enterprises (SOEs). The KTA notified the SOE management and the relevant Municipality in the second half of December, following the KTA Board meeting on Thursday, 14 December, that they would be privatised, and today posted the tender notice on the KTA website, www.kta-kosovo.org.
The list of privatisation tenders for the 22nd wave includes 23 Socially Owned Enterprises (SOEs.) This will create 28 new companies (NewCos).
– 19 SOEs will be privatised via Regular Spin-off, creating 24 NewCos.
– 4 SOEs will be tendered via Special Spin-off, creating 4 NewCo’s.
For the two mines available for purchase in this wave, Xim and Golesh, more lenient pre-qualification conditions are now being applied. For more information on the new pre qualification conditions potential investors should contact the Privatization Department at the KTA.
The pre-qualification deadline will be Wednesday, 28 February 2007.
The Bid Date for submitting bids to the KTA is Wednesday, 7 March 2007.
