Prishtinë, Sept 12, 2005 – The seminar aimed at informing interested buyers on the procedures and ways to present their offers during the seventh and the eighth wave of privatization.
KTA officials promised to have one wave of privatization per month. Many participants interested in actively participating in the 7th and 8th wave of privatization were heard during the seminar.
“The bidding for the 7th wave of privatization will be held on 21 September, while the deadline for pre-qualification is 15 September. The bid day for the 8th wave will be on 2 October, while the deadline for pre-qualification will be one week earlier,” said KTA executive director Arten Bajrushi.
The largest number of the enterprises in these waves belong to the agricultural sector. According to the participants, this process should have started earlier. “The delay of privatization of agricultural enterprises was detrimental for Kosovo,” said Besim Malsori an expert on viniculture.
In the 7th wave of privatization 29 SOEs-2 with special spin-off will be included, while in the 8th wave, 19 SOEs-3 with special spin-off will be privatized.
The KTA will organize these kinds of seminars in the future too, in order to inform potential buyers in more detail about the process of privatization.
