Kosovo, Switzerland sign agreement on air traffic

Republic of Kosovo and the Swiss Federation have signed an agreement to regulate air traffic services.

The agreement was signed by Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, Fatmir Limaj, and Lukas Beglinger, Ambassador of Switzerland in Kosovo.

Air traffic with Switzerland represents 30% of Kosovo’s air transport due to the large number of Kosovars living in this country.

Transport Minister, Fatmir Limaj said that this agreement is in line with market liberalization, as it allows unlimited number of regular flights between the two countries.

Kosovo is currently part in joint space aviation with the European Union. Kosovo is currently in the process of negotiating bilateral air transport agreement with the U.S. and Turkey.

This agreement is expected to reduce the cost of travel and transport goods from Kosovo to Switzerland and vice versa.
