Kosovo: regular power supply for businesses

Prishtina, 24 January 2007 – At a meeting with KEK managers, Minister of Trade and Industry, Bujar Dugolli, has requested that businesses that pay their bills be regularly supplied with electricity.

“There are some businesses that have regular electricity supply; some other are facing problems due to the ABC plan, although they pay their electricity bills regularly. Continuous investments are needed to have separate lines for power supply of private sectors or enterprises,” said Dugolli.

Dugolli also said he was informed by the KEK management about the latest projects that KEK has, including the opening of the new mine.

KEK officials said they are considering establishing a line for regular power supply for businesses. KEK Managing Director, Pranvera Dobruna-Kryeziu, said KEK is currently studying the network situation and will come up with the data in February.

Dobruna-Kryeziu also said a Department for New Connections was established within KEK and suggested to businesses to address their complaints to this institution.
