Within a short period of time, Kosovo is expected to open its first Stock Exchange.
This plan is being implemented by the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank, assisted by experts provided from USAID.
According to leaders of the Central Bank of Kosovo, this plan is likely to be realized together with Montenegro, as two countries that use the euro as their currency. The other possibility is to create a regional stock exchange. The Prime Minister of Albania, Sali Berisha has presented has also presented a similar plan for a regional stock exchange not too long ago. From Kosovo’s neighbouring countries, the only ones that have functional stock exchanges are Macedonia and Serbia.
