Prishtinë, Jan 24, 2006 – The Kosovo Trust Agency (KTA) informed the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) that the Lottery of Kosovo would be privatized, as it is an SOE. “MEF is preparing an administrative instruction for the establishment of a new lottery, which will be monitored by the Government,” said Muharrem Shahini, Spokesperson for MEF.
In the meantime, Minister of Economy and Finance, Haki Shatri said that there might even be an international tender for establishing a new lottery. According to Shatri, those interested would offer their bids and then the best one would be selected.
The Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Kadri Kryeziu, said the MEF would be in charge of establishing the Lottery, while MTI would register it as a business, similar to all fortune games.
