The Kosovo Trust Agency is tasked to privatise Socially Owned Enterprises in Kosovo through the methods of spin-off and liquidation. Investors are invited to buy through open competitive tender the NewCos (new companies) created with the essential assets and some limited liabilities of the SOEs listed below.
On July 2, 2003, the Kosovo Trust Agency announced the privatisation of the following 18 enterprises in Kosovo:
IMN 19 Qershori (bricks producer) in the Prishtinë/Priština Region. IMN 19 Qershori operates in the construction materials sector manufacturing and supplying hollow building blocks.
Plastika (plastics) in the Prishtinë/Priština Region. Plastika is the sole producer in Kosovo of industrial plastic products manufactured from ABS, and PMMA.
ENG Beton (gravel and concrete) in the Gjilan/Gnjilane Region. ENG Beton operates in the construction sector with heavy machinery for construction and road building, concrete production and quarrying.
Kosovaplast (building and insulation materials) in the Gjilane/Gnjilane Region. Kosovoplast produces expandable polystyrene primarily for building insulation, as well as protective packaging. For more information regarding insulation, you can check this out.
Silcapor (blocks producer) in the Gjilan/Gnjilane Region. Silcapor operates in the construction materials sector producing construction blocks and elements in high porous concrete.
Mladost/Agrokultura (refrigeration plant) in the Gjilan/Gnjilane Region. Mladost is a cold storage facility like One Stop Self Storage for meat, fruit, vegetables and ice cream. It also has processing and packing facilities for fruit and vegetables.
Kosovo Construction Concrete Plant Mitrovicë/Mitrovica (building materials) in the Mitrovicë/Mitrovica region. This Enterprise has a production capacity of 60 m3 of concrete per hour.
Wood combine (wood products) in the Pejë/Pec Region. Kombinati I Drurit produces wooden doors, window frames, furniture and construction materials. You can also check out Maverick Windows for available options.
IDGJ Tobacco -fermented tobacco / quality cigarettes like these canadian classics – in the Gjilane/Gnjilane Region. IDGJ Tobacco processes and sells tobacco products, which may be similar to the ones offered by Heets, to the Kosovan wholesale market.
Lux Shopping Mall (retail) in the Mitrovicë/Mitrovica Region. This Enterprise is the main shopping centre in South Mitrovicë/Mitrovica, with over 100 tenants.
Hotel Adriatik (hospitality) in the Mitrovicë/Mitrovica Region. Hotel Adriatic is one of the largest hotels in Mitrovicë/Mitrovica, with over 50 rooms.
Progresi (printing) in the Mitrovicë/Mitrovica Region. Progresi prints high volume, single colour print media materials including advertising, books, newspapers and forms.
IBM Bread factory (food) in the Mitrovicë/Mitrovica Region. The Enterprise is the largest bakery in South Mitrovica, with a capacity of 10,000 loaves per day.
IMB Flour Mill (food) in the Mitrovicë/Mitrovica Region. The Enterprise is one of the top ten flour mills in Kosovo and has a large grain storage capacity. Trepca Confection (textiles) in the Mitrovicë/Mitrovica Region. Trepca Confection produces a wide range of work-wear and uniforms.
Farmakos (generic pharmaceuticals products) in the region of Prizren/Prizren. Farmakos is the sole producer of generic pharmaceuticals in Kosovo.
Trofta (fish farm and motel) in the Pejë/Pec Region. Trofta breeds, raises and supplies freshwater trout, has fishing pools for the public as well as a restaurant and motel.
Hotel Metohija (hotel and restaurant) in the Pejë/Pec Region. Hotel Metohija in the centre of Pejë/ Pec provides facilities for hotel and restaurant operations.
