Kosovo: Llamkos resumes work

Prishtinë, Oct 20, 2005 – The factory of the galvanized iron, Llamkos in Vushtrri [Vucitrn], Kosovo, which was privatized two months ago, resumed work on Tuesday.

UNMIK Pillar IV Joachim Ruecker, the new owner of Llamkos the Bulgarian businessman Valentin Zaharev, Vushtrri [Vucitrn] mayor Muharrem Shabani, and head of BSPK Bahri Shabani attended the opening ceremony.

Llamkos has 500 workers. The new owner Zaharev said that in the coming years he would make more investments at the factory and hire more workers.

Meanwhile Ruecker said, “Private investments contribute to the economic growth and development and employment.” He also said he hoped that also Ferronikeli would be soon privatized.

Llamkos has not worked since the war.
