Kosovo laboratory to examin quality of fuel

Prishtina, 13 August 2007 – The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) has authorized the laboratory “Kosova Lab” to control the quality of fuel and conformity procedures, to which all importers and traders of fuel are subject to, reported newspapers in Kosovo

Officials of MTI informed that “Kosova Lab” will conduct the fuel analysis and the MTI Inspectorate will verify whether the traders have conducted the analysis in the lab or not.

“Kosova Lab” is expected to begin work from Monday onwards. However, the Customs Service will take the samples during the first 90 days of test and training phase.

MTI does not have the right to intervene in the prices of the laboratory. However, Haviz Gara, Head of MTI Agency for Standardization and Accreditation informed that it was requested from “Kosova Lab” to keep the prices in the level with other countries of the region.
