Kosovo gets over €122m within IPA

Prishtinë, October 10, 2008 – The European Commission and the Republic of Kosovo have signed a financial agreement which provides the new state €122.7m for social and economic development. According to the annual program of the Commission, the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA), the agreement has been signed by Kosovo Prime Ministers Hashim Thaçi and the head of EU Liaison Office in Prishtina Renzo Daviddi, under the presence of the EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn and the majority of EU countries ambassadors accredited to Kosovo.

“I came to Prishtina to tell citizens that live here how much the Commission cares about the European future of Kosovo. €122.7m dedicated for projects that aim to improve everyday life of Kosovo citizens are a strong sign of our commitment,” Kosovar media quote EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn as saying.
