Prishtina, 11 December 2006 – KTA officials announced yesterday the latest data on the privatization process.
“Until December 1st 228 SOEs were announced for privatization, of which 359 new enterprises were established,” said Ekrem Tahiri, Spokesperson for KTA. “210 contracts have been signed, two of them in November this year. About 90 contracts are pending, expected to be singed during this month and the following one. €264.459 million have been collected in the Trust Fund. It is good to mention that lately there was an increase in the payment of the 20% to the workers. Only in November €1.8 million were paid. In KTA’s database are 6,470 potential investors registered. 1,900 of them were pre-qualified.”
