Prishtinë, July 4, 2006 – By the end of the year, Kosovo will have a document to define its economic plan. The leader of the committee for the compilation of the strategy and Kosovo, Prime Minister Agim Ceku, informed the papers in Kosovo that the process is going in the right direction and the strategy has the value of EUR 2.4 million. The majority of this amount is donated by international organizations and the rest is being financed by the Government of Kosovo.
“Kosovo has potential for great economic development and this strategy will determine the direction, the priorities and the economic development that will take place in Kosovo. The strategy will be mainly based on the increase of direct foreign investments, development of industry and increase of the enterprises’ productivity in Kosovo,” stated Ceku, adding that the implementation of the strategy will begin immediately after the definition of Kosovo’s final status.
