Kosovo continues to improve in Doing Business ranking

According to the World Bank report Doing Business 2015, Kosovo continues to improve its business and investment environment. Kosovo moved to place 75 due to a number of still ongoing legal and administrative reforms. 

The World Bank has published a new report on the forecast of business conditions for 2015, covering 189 countries worldwide. 

The best country in the region is Macedonia, which is ranked 30^th, followed by Montenegro (36), Slovenia (51), Croatia (65), Kosovo (75), Serbia (91), while the lowest ranked is Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), which is at 107^th place.

Macedonia, compared to last year’s report, made progress for one place, for improving conditions and procedures when awarding permits for the construction, protection of minority shareholders and ease taw payments.

Montenegro moved for six places compared to 2014 report, thanks to improvements made when it comes to obtaining building permits.

Croatia moved up for two places also in the areas of obtaining construction permits, cross-border trade and resolving insolvency.

Kosovo moved from 81^st place to 75 thanks to improvements made to business registration procedures, but still lags behind with procedures for obtaining construction permits, registering property, enforcing contracts and resolving insolvency.

The largest decrease compared to 2014 ranking was recorded in Serbia, which, according to the World Bank report, fell from 77^th to 91^st place.

First on the list is Singapore, followed by New Zealand, Hong Kong, Denmark, South Korea, Norway, USA, UK, Finland and Australia.
