The Kosovo SME Promotion Programme, a 1.3m Euro project impemented by ECIKS, has successfully concluded in March 2016. The aim of the project was to support the Kosovar economy by strengthening the capacity of the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) to serve SMEs, which make up over 90% of businesses in Kosovo. The project was thus composed of three pillars. The first was direct capacity development support to MTI; the second was the setting up a Voucher Consulting Scheme to provide subsidized services to SMEs, and finally the third component consisted of creating a credit guarantee fund to facilitate and improve access to finance.
