Kosovo has the potential to increase its trade exchange with Germany, but also with all other countries, said representatives of local businesses in a meeting with the Association of German Entrepreneurs from Albania, Macedonia and Serbia.
The German Ambassador to Kosovo, Ernst Reichel stated that the fact that many Kosovars can communicate in German is a big advantage for Kosovo: “For this reason it is no surprise that Germany is the second largest exporter to Kosovo and the fourth largest importer of Kosovar goods”. Reichel also said that at the same time there are many opportunities to increase trade exchanges between Kosovo and Germany and all the other countries of the region..
The leader of the German Association of Businesses from Albania, Macedonia and Serbia, Michael Schmidt, highlighted some of the more interesting sectors for future cooperation: “The attractive sectors for cooperation are waste management, water systems, energy, infrastructure and construction.”
For his part, Kosovo’s Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Cuneyd Ustaibo mentioned the need to further improve conditions for potential investors in Kosovo.
