ECIKS and Amcham in Kosovo sign memorandum of understanding

The Economic Initiative for Kosovo (ECIKS) and the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo have signed today a memorandum of understanding.

The momerandum, signed by the director of Amcham Kosovo, Ms. Mimoza Kusari – Lila and the president of ECIKS, Mr. Kujtim Dobruna aims to increase the cooperation between two organisations, increase the exchange of information and experience as well as the coordination in investment promotion activities.

In a press conferenced held today in Prishtina, both Ms. Mimoza Kusari-Lila and Mr. Kujtim Dobruna said that more needs to be done to promote investments in Kosovo.

ECIKS (www.eciks.org) was founded in 2003 and it is based in Vienna, Austria. ECIKS represents since 2006 the Investment Promotion Agency of Kosovo (IPAK) in German-speaking region within a project financed by the Austrian Government. Over 100 potential investors have so far used the services of this project while 13 of them have already invested in Kosovo.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo (www.amchamksv.org) is a nongovernmental organization (NGO) esbalished in 2004 and officially accredited by the US Chamber of Commerce. It represents more than 70 Kosovar medium and large businesses, which jointly employ over 10,000 Kosovar employees with more than a 100 million Euro annual turnover.
