Kosovo gets support for €318 million grant from the World Bank

The Prime Minister and the Finance Minister of Kosovo have received in Washington the support of the World Bank and the IMF regarding a grant worth €318 million.

The grant is a joint project of European Commission, World Bank and IMF.

During the meeting with Prime Minister Thaci, World Bank vice president, Philipe Le Houero and manager of the IMF, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, have supported the recent development projects in Kosovo, including the highway construction and the privatization of public enterprises.

Kosovo is a full member of IMF and the World Bank since last year. This has opened the way for international financial support for Kosovo in terms of investments, loans and grants.
