Vienna, 26 June 2006 – The IPAK/ECIKS Office in Vienna has organized a visit of officials from the Kosovar Ministry of Transport and Communications in Vienna. The Kosovar delegation was led by Minister Qemajl Ahmeti.
Minister Ahmeti and Kosovar officials have discussed cooperation opportunities with ASFINAG, the Austrian state-owned company which is specialised in planning, financing managing and operating the Austrian motorway network. The main interest of the Kosovar delegation was possible cooperation in planning the Merdare – Morine motorway in Kosovo.
The Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr. Qemajl Ahmeti, has also met with the Austrian Vice Minister of Transport, Innovation and Technology, Mr. Herbert Kasser. The establishment of workgroups in order to start a technical cooperation in the Ministerial level was agreed in the meeting.
