Turks offer 26.3 million for Kosovo‘s power network

The Turkish consortium „Limak- Calik“ is the most preferred bid for the privatization of Kosovo’s power distributor KEDS. The Turks have offered 26.3 million EUR for KEDS.

A rival bid of 22.8 million EUR was submitted by the only other shortlisted bidder, a consortium led by Egypt’s El Sewedy Electric.

The Minister of Economic Development, Besim Beqaj stated that the final decisions will be made by the Government of Kosovo: “The investment and development plan for the distribution network provided by the Turkish consortium remains to be seen“.

The Limak company has a 20-year concession to Prishtinas International Airport.
