Prishtinë, Oct. 10, 2005 – Mobikos, a consortium that won the contested tender of second mobile provider in Kosovo, said that it is ready to start the work for a very short period of time, while they accused the Government of negligence.
The Manager Fatmir Gashi told KosovaLive that his company in case of go-ahead from the Government is ready to cover all Pristina region in two months, whereas all Kosovo in one year time.
Shefki Ukaj, an advisor to the Minister of Transport and Post-Telecom, said that the Ministry informed the Government regarding the course of this process.
In August 2004, the then Minister of Telecommunications Zef Morina has decided to cancel the tender after UNMIK, the Government, and international auditors suggested that there were violation of procedures during the tendering process, decision which was disregarded by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA).
