Kosovo’s SME Agency, which operates within the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) has launched the project “Development of Innovation Policies“ which will support young people’s ideas.
The Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Cuneyd Ustaibo stated that the aim of the project is to improve competition in the Western Balkans. He showed that there are 24 pilot projects presented to the Western Balkan Initiative for Regional Competition. “The projects reviewed in October of last year were evaluated based on their impact on human capital development and innovation promotion of local companies. These two key areas are identified as a priority not only in Kosovo but in the whole region, “said Ustaibo.
Officials from the Ministry of Economic Development said that the importance and potential of this project is undoubtedly confirmed by the selection of 24 pilot projects in the Western Balkan initiatives draft for regional competition. The Kosovar Government and the Ministry of Economic Development is committed to ensure all the reforms that stimulate private sector development.
Granit Berisha, the head of the SME Agency, said that after several months of cooperation between the public and private sector, they agreed on the need for implementation of this project, the product of which is an innovation strategy and its action plan.
