Kosovo and Turkey continue negotiations on Free Trade Agreement

The Free Trade Agreement Negotiating Group led by the Ministry of Trade and Industry has continued negotiations with their Turkish counterparts about the free trade agreements, in particular the initial positions on industrial products.

Until the next round of negotiations, the parties agreed to share the list of industrial and agricultural products and requirements for their protection.

In this meeting, Kosovo and Turkey exchanged information about their initial positions in the service sector. In this regard, they agreed to promote closer cooperation between the two countries in the field of services.

They also completed the draft legal text of the agreement. The next negotiation round will be held in the coming months.

Free Trade Agreement negotiations between Kosovo and Turkey began in September of 2012. After the signing of CEFTA, these are the first negotiations where Kosovo is participating as an independent country.
