Kosovo: a series of measures to improve business climate

Kosovar Institutions have introduced a series of measures during the last couple of weeks to improve the business climate and simplify the procedures with the Tax Administration of Kosovo (TAK) and Customs.

The measures include the issuance of tax clearance documentation in all regional offices of TAK, the extension of validity of tax clearance documents, measures regarding debts and good without origin, the voluntary declaration of taxes and the no longer required registration of business entities at Kosovo Customs.

A new Law on Banks, Microfinance Institutions and Financial Non‐banking Institutions has been adopted on 12.04.2012. In addition, several parliamentary public hearings were held regarding the Law on Protection of Competition, the draft Law on Electronic Communication and the new draft law on construction.
